Lead up one or more core planning functions: sponsorships, kids fest, volunteer coordination, trolley, social media, graphics, marketing

Time Commitment: 4+ months before the event: 10 hours per month + meet every 2 weeks; 2.5 months before the event week: 20 hours per month + weekly meeting; Volunteer majority/all of the event.

Qualities Needed: Ability to execute, self motivated, organized. Specialized skills in social media (reels, editing, etc), and graphic design needed.

Manage memberships, send communications to new members, follow up on lapsed members, plan outreach events and 3-4 membership meetings per year to engage community members

Time Commitment: 3-4 hours per month

Qualities Needed: Database person that is organized and detail person; Outreach person that loves meeting new people, Someone with great ideas and an ability to execute them

Plan quarterly safety social meetups, attend CAPS meetings, ensure Beat meetings are posted timely

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per month

Qualities Needed: Interest in safety, self starter

Maintain relationships with the Friends of groups of CPS schools and private schools (St. Mary’s, CICS etc). Plan and help lead the annual education forum to explain the CPS enrollment process.

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per month, 10 hours in August and September

Qualities Needed: Interest in researching CPS process, event planning, comfortable speaking to a group

Liaise and build relationships with local businesses. Understand their concerns and work on raising awareness. Meet with new businesses and connect them with the Walk teams.

Time Commitment: 1-3 hours per month

Qualities Needed: People person, sales, local business owner is a plus

Maintain relationships with Friends of park groups. Plan movies in the park and submit application (pick dates and movies), make announcements at the start of the movie. Involvement in Earth Day planning and activities.

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per month

Qualities Needed: Interest in movies, comfortable speaking in front of a group

This committee focuses on members of the community needing assistance including those experiencing homelessness.

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per month

Qualities Needed: social workers, metal health professionals

Identify ways to incorporate art into the community and the BCOs events

Time Commitment: 1-2 Hour per month

Qualities Needed: Art enthusiast, self motivated

Handle ad hoc requests related to zoning. The chair will escalate items to the board, community, and the alderman as needed.

Time Commitment: 1-3 hours including a monthly meeting

Qualities Needed: Real estate background or interest

App development for Walks, Website maintenance

Time commitment: 1-3 hours per month, more closer to events

Qualities Needed: App development knowledge, website development (square space) knowledge
